WELCOME ADDRESS

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

It is my pleasure to welcome all the participants to join our two-day International Scientific Conference “RADIOBIOLOGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY – 2023”.

The main objective of the Conference is to discuss the latest achievements in radiobiology, radioecology, radiation and environmental safety. The Conference addresses a wide range of subjects with a focus on the impact of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation of various frequencies on organisms and ecosystems, gerontology and radiation-associated ageing issues, behaviour modelling of technogenic radionuclides and other contaminants in the environment, development of new methods of environmental monitoring, accumulation of radiation doses to biota and humans and the ways of their reduction, environmental risk prediction and management, and the present-time social and economic development issues in environmentally disadvantaged areas.

The Conference is intended to contribute and promote further developments and improvements towards radiological protection of humans and the environment.

The ongoing situation with the global pandemic has taught us not to waste away our time on all sorts of trifles and small matters, but appreciate and cherish every minute of our lives, more so the moments we get to spend with our dear and special ones. Having this in mind, in addition to actual attendance, we will also be live streaming all sessions of the Conference, enabling our online participants to enjoy the virtual attendance right from their homes or work desks avoiding any physical contact.

Then let us all, in person or online, join together and spend two memorable days on 25–26 May 2023 to exchange expertise and share our scientific views and research findings, discuss a great variety of interesting topics, and, importantly, charge each other with the positive emotions and intellectual ideas toward the future scientific discoveries.

We are looking forward to welcoming at our Conference graduate and post-graduate students, researchers and scientists and all those involved in radiobiology, radioecology, radiation and environmental protection and associated sciences.

This year, the Organizing Committee has made a decision to reschedule the traditional dates of our annual Conference from the late September, with its subtle and hard to catch hold of Indian summer, to the end of May being one of the most comfortable and enjoyable time of the year in the region.

We are hoping our 2023 Conference participants will be taking pleasure not only in academic networking but in our blooming and blossoming town of Gomel as well.

Yours Sincerely,
Conference Chairman
Igor CHESHIK
